Obituary for Charles A Lewis

Charles Augustine Lewis, 67, quietly transition from labor to reward on Thursday, March 8, 2018 at his residence in Madison, Virginia.

He was born on May 6, 1950 to the late Sarah Bernice Mallory Lewis and James Phillip Lewis.

Charles was a graduate of Albemarle High School. He attended Piedmont Community College where he studied sociology. In 1969, he enlisted in the United States Air Force and trained as a mechanic.

Charles was a very talented artist, and his hobbies included collecting classic cars and horticulture.

Charles joined Chestnut Grove Baptist Church at an early age and was still an active member at the time of his passing.

In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by his siblings James Lewis, Jr and James Lewis.

Charles leaves to cherish his memory a devoted daughter Christy S. Bright of Stanardsville, Virginia; one grandson, Marques Bright; two brothers, Richard and Jon (Shirley) Lewis both of Gordonsville, Virginia; four sisters, Ronalda and Sarah Lewis of Madison, Virginia, Cynthia Lewis of Gordonsville, Virginia and Pat Lewis of Emporia, Virginia; and a host of nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends. He also leaves a close friend, Joe Johnson and special cousin, Dave Perrineau.
