Obituary for Clarence C. Hunt

Clarence C. Hunt was born on Thursday, March 26, 1942 in Culpeper County
to the late Velton Hunt and Mollie Morton Hunt, the oldest of seven children.
Clarence entered into eternal rest peacefully on Wednesday, August 15, 2018
at The Adler Care Center in Aldie, Virginia with his loving and devoted wife,
Marlene, and special cousin Melissa T. Jones by his side.
Clarence at an early age joined the Bethel Baptist Church in Mitchells,
Virginia. He attended school in the Mitchells area before moving to Beltsville,
Maryland where he worked for the Coca-Cola Bottling Company as a tractor
trailer driver, and retiring after 38 years of service.
Clarence returned home and married Marlene B. Anderson, the love and joy of
his life on September 18, 1993 by the late Reverend Gordon E. Henderson, Sr.
Clarence loved people; if you met him you “loved him”. To him everyone was
“My Buddy”, “My Woman”, “My Girl”, or “My Sister”, Marlene would smile.
Clarence’s work at Bethel included painting, having gravel placed on the
parking grounds and assisted in other areas to beautify the church. He served as
a Pastor Armour Bearer, an Usher, an “unknown” Missionary and he also made
many delicious dishes for annual Church events. On Saturday, July 7th, days after
being in the hospital, Clarence came into the house grabbed Marlene’s hand and said
“Can I have this dance”? which is what he would often do.
Clarence was preceded in death by one step-daughter, Pamela Wallace Glascoe
and his buddy “Midnight”. He leaves to cherish his memories, devoted wife
Marlene, three brothers; Velton, Leon, and Everett, four sisters; Carolyn Hunt,
Julia Jackson (James), Rose Anderson (Jason) and Patricia Hoffman (Charles);
step-grandchildren, great step-grandchildren, one aunt; Deacon Ceola Wright,
one uncle; Leon Morton, three brother-in-laws; Samuel Thompson (Verdell),
James Thompson, Sr. and John Thompson, Jr., four sister-in-laws; Lelia
Orange, Mildred Wilkins (Frank), Marian Johnson (friend Robert), and Teresa
Thompson (god-daughter) and god-daughters; Roberta Chester, Kecia Greene
and Marcia Hoffman (his “Angel”); four god-sons; Greg Veeney, Emanuel
Wormley, Lamont Washington and Ronnie Johnson, two special cousins;
Richard Morton and Marjorie Glass, a favorite cousin; Christopher Taylor, and
a host of nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.
