Obituary for Cynthia Evelyn Davies

The Davies, Doe, and Newton families announce the death of Mrs. Cynthia E. Davies. She died peacefully on June 18th, 2018 at the home of Robert and Josephine, her son-in-law and daughter.
Cynthia Evelyn Davies was born on October 11, 1934. She was the second child of Claudius and Grace Davies who pre-deceased her many years ago. She married Jonathan E. L. Davies and the union was blessed with six children: Grace, Adolphus, Alberta, Josephine, Jocin, and Jocinta. She was blessed with many grandchildren and great-grandchildren. She was a dedicated wife, mother, teacher and educator, administrator, a devout Vice Principal at St. Teresa’s Convent Catholic High School, and Principal of Holy Family Catholic School. She served her Lord and Master, Jesus Christ, in everything she did. She helped to spread the love of Jesus through the teaching of the Catholic catechism, becoming a lector, joining the Legion of Mary, promoting the devotion to the Sacred Heart of Jesus and the Immaculate Heart of the Blessed Virgin, Mary, and becoming a Noble Lady of the Knights and Ladies of Marshall. Her whole life was devoted to serving her creator, God, our Father.
She was a wife and a beloved mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, a sister, and an aunt. She was the first Principal of the Holy Family Catholic School in Caldwell, Liberia. She was a teacher and an Elementary Vice Principal, and later, Principal at the St. Teresa’s Convent High School in Monrovia, Liberia. She was a Noble Lady of the Knights and Ladies of Marshall. She was a catechist, a lector, and a member of the Legion of Mary. Her husband, Jonathan E. L. Davies, pre-deceased her eighteen years ago, and her twins, Jocin and Jocinta Davies, pre-deceased her eleven and twelve years ago. She is survived by her elder sister, Claudette Cole; several brothers and sisters; her daughters: Grace Davies, Alberta Davies-Doe, and Josephine Stanley-Newton; her son: Adolphus Davies; the children of her heart, Mary Sweetie Martin and Mildred Wreh; her loving and caring sons-in-law: Robert Newton and Hedison Blamo Doe; her grandchildren: Henriette Mathelier-Peterson, Lorraine Davies, Kanyennoh Doe, Benedicta Doe, Margeve Johns, Cyndi Rowan, Blamette Tae, Hedison Doe, Jeston Newton, Jonathan Davies, Sonpon Doe, Josephine Newton, Claudius Davies, James Newton, Cynthia Newton, Dolisha Davies; many nieces, nephews, grandnieces, and grandnephews in Africa and the USA; her great-grandchildren: Roberto Franceschini, George Franceschini, Chris Johns, Liyah Peterson, J’Naya Benitoe, Lucius Tae-Peterson, Daniel Peterson, Jr., Kaitlin Richards, Kailee Richards, and Nigel Fletcher, Jr. Go now Dearest Mama, and rest in peace!
